Hello

I’m Angharad, founder of Studio Hari.

I love plants and creating gardens. My work is motivated by a deep interest in plants and the natural landscape, as well as a respect for thoughtful, beautiful design. I am motivated by creating spaces where people and nature come together for the benefit of each other.

I have worked professionally in the design world for over twenty years, as an author, journalist, editor and academic. Following a life-long interest in plants and gardens, I began my training in garden design in 2022 at Capel Manor College and quickly began designing gardens for clients alongside my training.

As a designer, my process is driven by research and dialogue. I aim to fully understand a space and the people who will use it before beginning to shape it. Craft and sustainability are hand-in-hand at the heart of my ethos as a designer — sourcing materials and plants that have a connection to the location, and working with local makers and suppliers.

Sustainability is also about the life of the garden beyond design — creating something special that inspires people to enjoy day-to-day and for years to come.
